Course Description
- Create a simple Windows Forms application
- Add controls such as buttons, text boxes and calendars to forms
- Describe in simple terms the concept of an Object in programming
- Understand the terms Properties, Methods and Events.
- Work programmatically with properties, methods and events in coding an application
- Use basic variables to store data
- Work with common functions such as MessageBox to interact with the user

Part 1 – Introduction
- Creating a new project in Visual Studio
- Guided tour of the Visual Studio IDE
- Navigating between code view and design view
- Overview of the files in a solution
Part 2 – Objects, properties and events
- Adding controls to a form
- Using the properties window to set properties
- What is an event?
- Responding to an event in code
- Setting properties programmatically
Part 3 – Methods
- What is a method?
- Using methods to control an object
- Passing arguments to methods
- Using MessageBoxes to interact with the user
Part 4 – Variables and constants
- What is a variable?
- Creating variables and an overview of data types
- Using constants to hold fixed values
- Using an InputBox to get information from the user
Part 5 – IF statements
- Using IF to allow code branching
- Allowing for multiple execution paths with ELSE and ELSEIF
