This course provides delegates with an overview Access VBA. Rather than being a formal "learning to programme" course, this is a hands-on, task-based course which tackles some common problems and shows how they can be overcome with a little knowledge of VBA. It also serves as an excellent grounding in VBA concepts for delegates attending the 4 day "Access 2003 Programming" course.
The Course shows you how to move from creating simple applications to creating enterprise-wide, robust applications for multiple users. You’ll learn how to debug and handle errors, how to use ADO to work with data programmatically, how to secure your data with Microsoft Access security, and how to scale up to an Access client/server solution.
This course is for computer users needing to work in Microsoft Access 2002/2003.
This course is aimed at SQL Server database developers, administrators and analysts who need a little bit more than SQL can do alone. SQL Server provides a powerful scripting language, Transact SQL, which enables developers to extend the capabilities of the SQL language. Using Transact SQL (TSQL) powerful scripts, stored procedures, functions and triggers can be produced to enable extracted information to be processed further, or to enable complex transformations of data prior to, during or after an insert, update or delete, or to implement automated updates and audit trails.
As well as looking at how to create and maintain scripts, stored procedures, user-defined functions and triggers this course will explore some of the additional TSQL features such as Views and Common Table Expressions (CTEs).
The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the advanced use of structured query language (SQL) for Microsoft SQL Server and the advanced use of Transact-SQL.
The course will provide delegates with the ability to carry out advanced, complex Data Manipulation Statements (DML) to query on, and change the contents of a relational database and extends this to programming in the Transact-SQL language to create SQL scripts, Stored Procedures and Triggers.
In this course, you will learn how to use SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services. Explore its basic architecture and gain a basic understanding of the components of SSRS 2008. You’ll then explore tabular and list reports that employ datasets and data regions. As you progress you’ll learn to add custom expressions, custom functions and format your reports using Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence Studio. The reports you create in the course will employ shared data sources, interactive sorting, and drill-down capabilities. You’ll then understand how Reporting Services parameters work and create parameters in ad-hoc SQL. Next you’ll be building Matrix reports and charts then explore the use of Reporting Services gauges. The Deployment of Reporting Services projects follow using a variety of formats and client-side printing. You’ll gain knowledge of SSRS Security in managing of user roles and accounts. You’ll also discover how to view reports using URL access and the Reporting Services Web Service API, without requiring users to use Internet Explorer. Finally, you’ll learn how to empower your users to create ad-hoc reports using Report Builder and Report Model projects.
This course will enable technology professionals with little or no ETL experience to be comfortable and productive with the SSIS tools and technologies. In this course you will learn about the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) and working with Control and Data Flows to build workflows to extract, transform, and load data using a variety of data sources, transformations, and destinations. You will also become familiar with SSIS package management and package deployment along with learning to write solid code using debugging, error handling, and logging techniques.
In this course, you will learn how to use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS) to design and implement OnLine Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes and data mining models to support Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This course includes concepts, procedures and practices based on real-world experience giving both the novice and experienced SQL Server 2008 developer the tools to build data cubes and forecasting solutions. This course also provides information on end-user tools including Microsoft Excel 2007, Office Visio 2007 Professional Edition, SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integrated Services and Reporting Services.
The objective of this course is to provide senior database analysts, developers or database administrators with a good understanding of SQL Server Architecture and Query Performance so that applications and their supporting environment can be tuned for optimal performance.
The course will provide delegates with the knowledge required to size, plan, monitor and tune a SQL Server application for either a OLTP or data warehousing environment. Everything from Operating System & SQL Server service tuning through to query and index tuning will be covered. It is a hands on course with performance and analysis tools being put to use throughout.
In this course you will learn about the steps to install, and/or upgrade to SQL Server 2008 and configuring the server. You will see how the principals of database design are used in creating of databases and then how to apply server tables to them. The course continues with SQL Server Management Studio and how to build effective views, stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions using Transact-SQL. Learn how to make your databases more scalable through partitioning and how to use .NET languages like Visual C# and Visual Basic to build database objects.

In almost every office around the world, people communicate and share ideas to create products and services. This information sharing often requires multiple software and web applications that do not necessarily work together perfectly. In contrast, Windows® SharePoint® services combines familiar office tools, adds the latest technology, and extends the functionality of applications and the web into a single environment to share information and collaborate with colleagues, no matter where you are or how you access the information. In this course, you will create and edit content in a Windows SharePoint Services team website, and then you will create and manage your own team site.
This course is designed for individuals who access information on a Windows SharePoint team site or SharePoint site owners who are responsible for creating and managing a team website.
In your previous experience, you have used the features of a WSS team site and you have also performed some basic administration of WSS team sites as a site owner. Once you have mastered these basic skills, your job might require you to perform more advanced administration of sites you own, or even administer multiple sites and the SharePoint Services environment as a whole. In this course, you will manage team sites as a site owner and as a SharePoint Services administrator.
This course is designed for existing SharePoint site owners with basic SharePoint administrative skills who need to perform more advanced site owner or site administrator tasks. For example, it could be an IT manager who is already familiar with website administration and who is now responsible for managing and administering a Windows SharePoint Services site, or it could be an individual who is responsible for managing and administering a team site.
You've created intranet sites using Microsoft® Windows® SharePoint® Services. There will be times when you would want to build sites that lay emphasis on your company's unique requirements and sites that align themselves with the company's unique brand identity. In this course, you will use Microsoft® SharePoint® Designer 2007 to customize your SharePoint sites and build a new sub-site on the SharePoint services platform.
This course is intended for SharePoint web designers and SharePoint solution developers, who want to learn to customize SharePoint sites by enhancing the look and feel of a SharePoint site and also to create dynamic pages using Web Parts and workflows.
Now that you know how to create customized SharePoint sites matching your branding, you may want to extend your sites to include more functionality. With SharePoint Designer, you can extend your sites more easily than before.
This course is intended for entry-level SharePoint solution developers who are currently capable of creating basic SharePoint sites using the out-of-the-box functionality provided by the built-in SharePoint Designer templates, and who now want to extend or create SharePoint sites with functionality by incorporating server web controls, data controls, customized workflows, and administration.
This two-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to customize Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003. The workshop focuses on Web Parts, security, and the SharePoint Services object model.
This workshop is intended for experienced programmers who have a minimum of six months programming experience using Visual Studio® .NET.
